Piggly Wiggly, Lil Mama, best friends, marie sutherland,
so I put it on the world wide web.
(Apologies for stealing your pic, girls,
but at least you weren't nude!)

My daughter sent me this photo in a text message with the caption: "Vertically challenged sleep-deprived mother seeks comfort in arms of the friendly giant."

Seconds later she texted, "Woops hehe sorry mom, that was for Bri!"
"Too late," I replied, "it's already on Whorrified, LOLZ!" implying that I was joking, but as you can plainly see, I wasn't joking. You sent me a text in error? MINE!

The photo shows my daughter (right), Piggly Wiggly's mom, getting a visit from her best friend and latching onto her like a drowning woman. Which, if you've ever had a baby, is exactly what you feel like. And while the photo itself is not particularly remarkable or even the least bit relevant to anything, I decided to milk it for cheap laughs share it with you because seriously, what is the first thing you think when you look at this picture? "Holy shit! Is the one on the  left freakishly tall or is the one on the right freakishly short?" The answer to that being: Yes.

These two mismatched darlings have been besties since grade school, bonded by happy memories, sad memories and a shared passion for ridiculous antics. (Butt dancing to Baby Got Back, anyone?) Bri was my daughter's maid of honour, and even on that day, she was freakin' hilarious. On that day, the laughs and the tears flowed freely. As did the hooch ... briefly lapses into slack-jawed reminiscence, wonders, "Why would anyone have an open bar at an event I am even remotely likely to show up at?"* ... Ahem. But I digress.

The girls don't see each other as often as they'd like to these days because jobs, boyfriends, husbands, kids, life, but when they do, they reconnect as immediately as if they'd never been apart. Because true friendship, like true love, never dies.
So, hey, Bri and Lil Mama, sorry for stealing your private moment, but I think we needed your message. (And now, you will kindly unblock me, young lady!)
