A RIDICULOUS YET IMPORTANT NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE

taylor swift, shake it off, new years resolutions,
TAYLOR SWIFT HAS A VERY POWERFUL MESSAGE FOR US, LADIES
And I really wish she was a little older than 25 because then I wouldn't feel like I'm getting life lessons from my granddaughter.
Youtube/Shake It Off

Like most old people I know, I don't make  new year's resolutions because I don't need more reasons to hate myself for my weakness for booze/food/men/chocolate/yourvicehere. However. I happened across this video by Taylor Swift and WAIT DON'T RUN AWAY GIVE ME A CHANCE! Because say what you will about Taylor, this video (below) is amazing. It's fun, it's funky, it's slick as hell, but most of all, it's true. For me and, I suspect, for most women. It amazes me that this kid knows at 25 what it took me well into my 40s to learn, but hey, the important thing is that I learned it. Before I died.

Aside from the fact that I've never known any human who can move their body the way these kids do, this video is the motto I live my life by, and is the only resolution I will make this year or any year. Basically it's this: People are always going to judge you. Fuck 'em. Do whatever the hell you want, live your life to the fullest and never let anyone try to hold you down. (And they will try to hold you down. Especially if they think you're having more fun than they are.) This seems like a very good thought to start 2015 off with.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Sooo ... I get you a Daily Insights From the Dalai Lama calendar and you endorse TAYLOR GODDAM SWIFT as your ambassador of New Year's inspiration?
MY NOTE: I know. Don't listen to me. I have a drinking problem. *presses 'Play'* Aaaaiiieee! It's so catchy!
